    Gold Prices Rise Again in Bangladesh After Two Consecutive Decreases

    After two consecutive price reductions, the Bangladesh Jewellers’ Association (BAJUS) has announced another increase in gold prices in the domestic market. According to the new decision, the price of gold has been increased by BDT 5,482 per bhori. Consequently, the new price for one bhori of 22-carat gold, including VAT, has been set at BDT 2,28,556.

    BAJUS announced this new pricing through a notification on Saturday morning (June 27). The association stated that the new prices would be effective from 10:00 AM on Saturday.

    The BAJUS notification explained that the new gold prices were determined after considering the overall market situation, which saw an increase in the price of pure gold in the local market.

    According to the new price list, the price of one bhori (11.664 grams) of 22-carat gold, including VAT, has been set at BDT 2,28,556. Additionally, the price for one bhori of 21-carat gold is BDT 2,18,292, 18-carat gold is BDT 1,87,440, and traditional method gold is BDT 1,53,148.

    Previously, BAJUS had last adjusted gold prices on Thursday (June 25). At that time, the price of one bhori of 22-carat gold was reduced by BDT 2,216 to BDT 2,23,074. During the same period, the price of 21-carat gold was BDT 2,13,042, 18-carat gold was BDT 1,82,950, and traditional method gold was BDT 1,49,474.

    So far this year, gold prices in the domestic market have been adjusted a total of 82 times. Among these adjustments, prices have been increased 41 times, decreased 40 times, and VAT has been adjusted once.
