A video featuring Gazi Nazrul Islam, the Jamaat-e-Islami Member of Parliament (MP) for Satkhira-4 constituency, has gone viral on social media, sparking widespread discussion and criticism across the country.
Meanwhile, Sherin Amin Bhuiyan (Monami), an assistant professor at Dhaka University, has reacted to the personal video controversy. She expressed her frustration in a post from her verified Facebook ID on Wednesday (July 22).
In her post, she wrote, “Two days ago, I said that one must be responsible. Two days later, I log onto Facebook today and see Jamaat MP Gazi Nazrul Islam….. Why!!! Simply why!!”
The video, showing intimate moments between Gazi Nazrul Islam, the MP for Satkhira-4 constituency and a leader of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, and a woman, recently circulated on social media. He is reportedly a member of Jamaat-e-Islami’s Central Majlish-e-Shura.
The video went viral on Monday night (July 20), generating extensive discussion in political and social circles. However, Satkhira District Jamaat has claimed the woman in the video is Gazi Nazrul Islam’s “second wife.”
