    ECNEC Approves 10 Projects – Bangla Online News Portal

    A meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Tareq Rahman. This was the 12th ECNEC meeting of the current fiscal year and the fourth meeting of the present government. In this meeting, 10 mega projects worth BDT 3,890 crore were approved.

    The important meeting took place on Tuesday (June 9) at 10 AM in the Cabinet Division of the Secretariat.

    It is known that a total of 12 projects, including new and revised ones, were presented at the meeting, out of which 10 projects received final approval after scrutiny.

    The approved projects include: Maintenance and Rehabilitation of Barisal Irrigation Project (Phase 1), Construction of Integrated Upazila Land Complexes, Construction of Mymensingh City Corporation Nagar Bhaban, Upgradation of Anwara-Banshkhali-Toitong-Pekua-Badarkhali-Chakaria Regional Highway to appropriate standard and width, Development of Circuit Houses in 33 Districts and Installation of Lifts in Thakurgaon Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Bangladesh Shishu Hospital and Institute Expansion Project-2, Construction of Cancer Center at Dhaka CMH (Phase 2), Madrasa Education Management and Information System (MEMIS) Support, Establishment of Multimedia Classrooms in 653 Madrasas across the country, and Capacity Enhancement of Existing Grid Substations and Transmission Lines.

    The Ministry of Planning stated that the majority of the funding for these 10 approved projects will be sourced from government funds. Maximum emphasis will be placed on implementing the projects within the stipulated time.
